Can one person drink at every bar in San Francisco?

The Buccaneer – Russian Hill

Add The Buccaneer to the ever growing list of bars I regret not having checked out sooner. The bar is mildly pirate themed without going into Disney territory, and the interior looks like the inside of an upturned boat. It’s the perfect size neighborhood bar with a friendly vibe that makes me want to come back.

On a Monday night the bar was lively without being crowded; a couple of regulars sat at the bar, and there was a group playing pool in the back. The Buccaneer’s happy hour lasts until 8:00 pm, with tall, stiff well drinks that will only set you back 4 bucks. Overall the atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. This is definitely a bar to check out if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

And FYI to any of the Bostonians out there: This is definitely one of the explicitly Boston-centric sports bars in town. So an ex-pats looking for a wicked pissah place to watch the Pats, put this on your list.
