Can one person drink at every bar in San Francisco?

Mojito

Mojito was the second stop on my mini tour of North Beach, hosted by my friend and amateur historian Darren. After failing in our plan to have only one more drink at Vesuvio, we needed food and we needed it fast. Luckily, Darren knows all of the tricks of the neighborhood and he introduced me to a lovely thing…

$1 tacos. Now it’s true, you get what you pay for. But fresh the $1 tacos at Mojito are far and away better than anything you could get for a dollar at that giant taco chain restaurant. Even better, we were able to get 4 tacos and two pints of beer for $8 total, an uncommon deal in our fair, overpriced city.

It’s hard to say what the usual crowd at Mojito is. I’ve only been there twice, and this last trip the whole neighborhood had Giants fever, so the entire bar was completely absorbed by the game. But it’s big and divey and the food is cheap, so I will definitely keep this on my short list for pit stops in North Beach.

    • I’m not sure I remember exactly. Avacado, cheese, maybe some salsa? They weren’t exactly full of toppings, but they definitely hit the spot.
