Can one person drink at every bar in San Francisco?

Lipo Lounge – Chinatown

Again, my counting ability was not so great that night. Lipo Lounge was actually bar #32 and the last stop on our Chinatown bar crawl, and it was the perfect place to end the night. Upstairs, the bar was packed with friendly, very drunk Chinese business men, and the drinks were tiny but still quite strong. Downstairs was a totally different story.

After walking down a narrow, twisting stairwell, we entered a basement like space that hosts some of the best noise shows and dance nights you’ve never heard of. Sunday nights are Sweater Funk, the weekly 70’s/80’s soul boogie night. The music was unbelievable and we immediately got the dance party started.

My favorite part about the space was the giant fan that made everyone’s dancing look sexy and dramatic:

Aw, you’re making me all nostalgic. I’ve had some great nights in the basement at Li Po.
