Can one person drink at every bar in San Francisco?

Gangway – Tenderloin

What to say about the Gangway? It’s one of those bars that seems to suck you into another dimension, making you lose all normal sense of time and space. I’m not sure I have adequate words to describe the Gangway, except one: intense.

And, it’s a bar with the Titanic coming out of the front! How could that be anything less than awesome?

They also claim: “”We ARE the OLDEST gay bar in San Francisco. Est. 1948.” I think they might mean oldest as in: still in existence and functioning. (Well, just barely. 😉

I am very much a fan of their random late night buffets. And the chatty, super-friendly regulars.

    • Maybe longest running gay bar, definitely not close to oldest bar.
